In a shocking incident that left the community of Hiram, Georgia, reeling, two young individuals lost their lives in a tragic murder-suicide at a local Walmart Super Center. The incident occurred on September 21 and has been the subject of intense scrutiny and sorrow.
Hiram Police Chief Mike Turner revealed the deceased were previously involved in a romantic relationship. The victims, one male and one female, were both described as “younger people.”

The shooting took place around 7:30 p.m. at the Walmart Super Center located at 4166 Jimmy Lee Smith Parkway.
According to Chief Turner, this was not a random act of violence but a targeted attack. “This was one person knew another person, there was some kind of former relationship,” said Turner, emphasizing this was not an active shooter situation.
Witnesses at the scene reported hearing gunshots and quickly evacuating the store.
One witness, Devani Lopez, recounted the terrifying moment, saying, “As soon as I heard the second shot, I ran straight for the exit because I heard the gunshot come from my left side, so I ran to the right exit.”
Both victims were found suffering from gunshot wounds and were immediately transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. Unfortunately, they were pronounced dead upon arrival.
The identities of the victims have not been disclosed, as authorities are waiting for next of kin to be notified.
