The missing F-35 fighter jet, valued at a staggering $80 million, has been located.

The jet had been missing since its pilot was forced to eject over South Carolina. The military confirmed on Monday afternoon that the debris from the stealth fighter jet was recovered in a field two hours north of Charleston.

The incident occurred on Sunday when the US Marine Corps (USMC) pilot was compelled to eject from the aircraft over North Charleston.

The pilot parachuted safely into a residential area around 2 pm and was subsequently transported to a local hospital. He is reported to be in stable condition, according to Major Andrew Wilkow, an instructor and one of the course designers.

The Joint Base Charleston had earlier appealed to the public for any information that could assist their recovery teams in locating the F-35. The response was overwhelming, demonstrating the unity and cooperation of the American people in times of crisis.

The F-35 fighter jet is a symbol of American military prowess and technological advancement.

Its loss would have been a significant blow to our national defense capabilities. However, the successful recovery of the jet’s debris underscores the efficiency and determination of our military forces.

This incident brings to mind the first-ever F-35 crash in 2018, which was classified as a ‘Class A’ mishap, indicating damages exceeding $2 million. In October last year, another F-35 jet crashed and exploded in flames at the end of a runway in Salt Lake City, after the pilot ejected.

These incidents serve as stark reminders of the inherent risks associated with operating such high-tech machinery.

The pilot involved in the recent incident was part of the Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron 501 based in Beaufort, not far from South Carolina’s Atlantic coast.

The Beaufort station is home to several units of the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, including the Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron 501, which operates F-35B Lightning IIs.

The incident has been linked to the infamous Cornfield Bomber incident, a testament to the unpredictable nature of military aviation. Despite these challenges, our brave servicemen and women continue to put their lives on the line to protect our nation’s security.

The recovery of the missing F-35 fighter jet is not just a triumph for the US military but also a testament to the resilience and determination of our armed forces. It serves as a reminder that even in the face of adversity, the American spirit remains unbroken.
