Hunter Biden Saga Unravels: Republicans Issue Subpoenas to DHS and Secret Service

Republican lawmakers issued subpoenas to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Secret Service as part of their ongoing investigation into Hunter Biden’s alleged misconduct.

The probe centers around accusations that the Biden administration may have tipped off Hunter Biden prior to an FBI interview.

The investigation is spearheaded by Gary Shapley and Joe Ziegler, both former IRS agents. They claim that despite their recommendation for Hunter Biden to be charged with a felony in relation to his tax affairs, the Department of Justice refrained from doing so.

This led to speculation about potential political interference in the decision-making process.

However, these claims have been met with resistance from Democrats, including top Oversight Democrat Jamie Raskin, who accused Republicans of concealing testimony from an FBI agent that contradicted Shapley and Ziegler’s allegations.

The agent testified he never knew anyone in the Delaware U.S. attorney’s office, which handled the case, to make decisions based on politics.

Despite this, Republicans remain undeterred in their pursuit of the truth. They are particularly interested in investigating any possible connections between the alleged interference in the Hunter Biden probe and his father, President Joe Biden.

In a bold move, Rep. Comer issued six subpoenas on Tuesday.

One was directed at DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, demanding documents, while the rest were sent to the Secret Service, requesting in-person testimonies related to the alleged ‘tip-off.’

The subpoenas come in the wake of allegations made by a former FBI supervisory special agent working on the Hunter Biden case.

The agent claimed he was prevented from interviewing Hunter Biden in 2020 after the agency informed the Secret Service and the Biden transition team about the planned interview.

This revelation has raised eyebrows among conservatives, who argue that such a tip-off could have allowed those close to President Biden and Hunter Biden to obstruct the investigation.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer has taken the lead in intensifying the probe to uncover the truth behind these allegations.

The former FBI agent also expressed confusion over why the Biden transition team was informed about the planned interview, stating it was an unusual occurrence. He suggested this incident was part of a broader issue that allowed Hunter Biden to evade accountability and difficult questions about his income and actions.
