Elon Musk, the world-renowned billionaire and CEO of Tesla, recently voiced his concerns about his transgender daughter, Vivian, adopting communist ideologies.
Musk attributed his daughter’s radical shift in beliefs to her education at Crossroads, an elite private school in Santa Monica.
Vivian, previously known as Xavier, legally changed her name and gender in April 2022. She expressed her desire to distance herself from her father during the legal proceedings. This decision was approved by a California court in June 2022.
Vivian’s mother is Canadian writer Justine Wilson, who was married to Musk from 2000 to 2008. Musk has nine children in total, including five with Wilson, two with ex-girlfriend Grimes, and two with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis.

Crossroads, where annual tuition can reach up to $50,000, is known for its high-profile alumni, including celebrities like Zooey Deschanel, Jonah Hill, Jack Black, Kate Hudson, and Gwyneth Paltrow.
The school also boasts of LeBron James’ sons, Bronny and Bryce, as former students before they transferred to Sierra Canyon for its basketball program.
Musk has been vocal about his support for transgender rights, but he has also expressed his frustration with the use of pronouns. He once tweeted, “I absolutely support trans, but all these pronouns are an aesthetic nightmare.”
He added, “Pronouns suck.”
The billionaire initially reacted calmly when he learned about his child’s transition. However, his concern grew when Vivian began expressing extreme Marxist views and declared her intention to sever all ties.
Musk told biographer Walter Isaacson that Vivian moved beyond socialism to full communism, believing that anyone rich is evil. He partly blamed Crossroads for this ideological shift.

Isaacson revealed when Vivian was 16, she texted the wife of Elon’s brother to come out as transgender, requesting her not to inform her father.
Musk’s strained relationship with Vivian reportedly fueled his ongoing obsession with ‘woke’ ideology, which he perceives as a threat to human civilization. This concern motivated his $42 billion purchase of Twitter last year.
Musk previously criticized ‘woke’ schools for his rift with Vivian, but this is the first time he specifically named Crossroads. Founded in 1971, the school has evolved into a prestigious academy catering to the children of the rich and famous, preparing the next generation of Hollywood stars.
