The Biden administration unveiled a new gun control plan.
This radical scheme, rolled out by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), prompted a prominent gun rights organization to issue a stark warning about the potential implications for American citizens.
The new rule, as explained by the Gun Owners of America (GOA), is set to redefine what it means to be “engaged in the business” of selling firearms.
Under this proposed regulation, any individual who sells even a single firearm for profit could be classified as a firearms dealer. This would require them to obtain a federal license, conduct background checks, and complete extensive registration paperwork under federal law.

This alarming development is seen as an enhancement of the ATF’s illegal gun registry. It is feared this will make it significantly more difficult for private individuals to sell guns.
The options left for them are either to become a licensed gun dealer or to take time off work to coordinate trips with potential gun buyers to find a gun store.
The GOA’s Senior Vice President, Erich Pratt, has issued a stern warning about the implications of this new rule. He stated initially, the rule was said to apply to those selling five guns, but now it applies to anyone who sells a single firearm in a year and makes even a penny of profit.
This, according to Pratt, is just the next step in anti-gunners’ long-term strategy to enact backdoor universal registration of firearms and eventually to confiscate all firearms.

This new rule comes on the heels of Texas Senator John Cornyn’s “compromise” gun control legislation. Passed a month after the May 2022 Uvalde mass shooting, this legislation included tightened gun purchasing laws.
It required individuals who buy and sell firearms “to predominantly earn a profit” to register as a Federal Firearm Licensee. It also mandated that dealers conduct background checks and keep appropriate records.
Critics argue the Biden regime is using this legislation to discourage Americans from arming themselves. They believe the ultimate goal of the administration is to disarm the population and establish a leftist dictatorship without effective resistance.
This, they say, would leave many Americans vulnerable and unable to protect themselves and their families. As law-abiding gun owners brace for what might come next, it is clear that the fight for gun rights in America is far from over.
