TV host and comedian Bill Maher is about as liberal as they come.
The only difference between Maher and your average progressive is that he occasionally steps out of line to defend basic principles like freedom of speech.
He also admits that he’s a bit of a wild guy and not any moral example for others to follow, unlike the kind of self-righteous progressives we see parading around our Congress, on TV and in our own neighborhoods and families.
However, Maher is currently having a bit of bad luck, as he just recently tested positive for COVID after already getting the vaccine.
This Week’s Episode is Cancelled
This week’s episode of Maher’s show Real Time is cancelled after the host tested positive for COVID on a PCR test.
This week’s show was scheduled to have on liberal podcaster science guy Neil deGrasse Tyson, World War Z author Max Brooks and Hardcore History creator Dan Carlin to talk, which would have been an interesting mix of perspectives.
HBO said that the cancellation is because Maher tested positive, despite already being vaccinated.
“The Friday, May 14th taping of Real Time with Bill Maher has been cancelled. Bill tested positive during weekly staff PCR testing for COVID. He is fully vaccinated and as a result is asymptomatic and feels fine,” HBO said, adding that “Real Time production has taken every precaution following COVID CDC guidelines. No other staff or crew members have tested positive at this time. The show will be rescheduled at a later date.”
Thanks to all wishing me get well – hard to do since I feel perfectly fine, but I appreciate it! Most upset about ending my streak going back to 1993 of never missing a Politically Incorrect or Real Time episode. Oh well, even Cal Ripken had to sit one out at some point.

Isn’t the Vaccine Supposed to Stop COVID?
Maher said he’s feeling fine in a tweet on Thursday, and he has no symptoms, but it seems kind of odd that he would test positive when he’s had the vaccine. There are basically two options here: the test is wrong or the vaccine didn’t work for him.
Real Time is in its 19th season and its a very successful show. It’s the first episode he’s missed since 1993, but as a good liberal Maher is doing the “responsible” thing and keeping his asymptomatic COVID-positive butt at home.
President Biden recently gave people permission to not wear a mask once they’ve been vaccinated, which is sure to create a lot of real confusion for pro-mask liberals who feel safer still wearing the mask despite having been vaccinated.
It’s always nice to get permission to uncover your face and smile from the President. Since otherwise you wouldn’t have known if you had the right… (Sarcasm).
One good practical joke that conservatives can feel free to do is to act all worried and upset around liberals wearing masks, saying they are worried this person is unvaccinated. The amount of confusion and cognitive dissonance it will cause is something I’d pay money to see.
