The conflict between Israel and Palestine is getting worse, and leadership from the United States is nowhere to be seen.
Israel is currently facing off against Hamas who have launched thousands of rockets, killing five Israelis, with 43 Palestinians also killed, many civilians.
Defence Minister Benny Gantz said that a ceasefire is nowhere in sight and that “the army will continue to attack to bring a total, long-term quiet. Only when we reach that goal will we be able to speak about a truce.”
Israel’s military destroyed various locations in Gaza and has warned civilians to evacuate areas being used as attack locations by terrorists but civilians have still been crossfire.
Meanwhile, several Israeli brigades are amassing near the border of Gaza, raising the chance of a full ground invasion and broader military operation.
Many have observed that President Biden is weak on Israel and that this flareup in Palestine never would have occurred under the strong leadership of President Trump.
This situation is likely to get a lot worse before it gets better.
Trump Issues Statement on ‘Biden’s Weakness’
The UN at this point has warned both sides to stop, saying that this will lead to a “full-scale war” if not.
“Stop the fire immediately. We’re escalating towards a full-scale war. Leaders on all sides have to take the responsibility of de-escalation,” tweeted UN Special Envoy to the Middle East Tor Wennesland.
UK leader Boris Johnson took a similar “both sides” tone, saying “I am urging Israel and the Palestinians to step back from the brink and for both sides to show restraint. The UK is deeply concerned by the growing violence and civilian casualties.”
The US State Department has also echoed this language of being “deeply troubled,” as if an emotional reaction will somehow solve a war.
President Trump took a different stance, saying that the current disaster is occurring because of Biden’s lack of leadership and weak ties with Israel.
“Under Biden, the world is getting more violent and more unstable because Biden’s weakness and lack of support for Israel is leading to new attacks on our allies,” Trump said in a statement he put out before the Biden Administration had even responded to the conflict.
Israel’s Iron Dome missile defence system has protected the nation from most of the rockets, but some have gotten through and killed civilians, including kids.
The conflict in Israel would not be happening if President Trump were in office.

The Worst Violence Since 2014
This is the worst violence in the Middle East since the 2014 war between Israel and Palestine. Hamas has said that it’s nowhere near ready to back down and leader Ismail Haniyeh has stated that “if Israel wants to escalate, we are ready for it” and Haniyeh said that they will “step up attacks.”
Hamas has been launching a number of rockets including hitting a large oil refinery in Ashkelon, Israel, while Israeli has used bunker buster bombs on underground tunnels in Palestine.
