Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson is a man who dreams big. He went from a hard youth to a difficult football career that didn’t pan out the way he had hoped. But he didn’t give up.
He kept training hard and became a champion WWE wrestler and then in 2001 he changed course at the top of his career and became an actor.
Many people told Johnson that acting was a mistake. Why leave at the top of his game? Stay focused on the ring and keep making big money.
But he had his eye set on Hollywood and against most people’s expectations, he made it happen, becoming one of America’s favorite action and comedy stars.
Could being President of the United States be next? The rumors have circled for years, and in a recent interview Johnson finally weighed in.
Is the Rock Running?
In a recent interview Johnson finally gave his comment on whether he’s running for President. At 48-years-old and with mountains of charisma – and muscle – he definitely could do it, and his most recent comment is very clear that yes he may indeed run for President.
“I would consider a presidential run in the future if that’s what the people wanted. Truly I mean that, and I’m not flippant in any way with my answer. That would be up to the people,” Johnson said.
For now his plan is to see how things go for now and test the waters, but a presidential run is definitely a possibility.
“I would wait, and I would listen. I would have my finger on the pulse, my ear to the ground,” he said, adding “where we’re at right now is just quietly observing everything happening on the political landscape, and when the next election comes along … I will be watching very intently.”
Could it be any clearer? The Rock is ready to run. Now is just a matter of figuring out where he’d fit in politically.

What are the Rock’s Politics?
Johnson says he is an independent and has voted in the past for Democrats and Republicans. Johnson didn’t vote in 2016, not liking either of the main candidates.
However there’s bad news for conservatives when it comes to his political views.
In a September, 2020 Instagram post, Johnson said despite having “friends in all parties” and enjoying an honest dialogue about politics he was officially endorsing Kamala Harris and Joe Biden to lead the country. He made the endorsement after sitting to talk with Harris and Biden about various issues including how to “earn the American people’s respect.”
In an online discussion with Biden and Harris that’s frankly difficult to watch because of the level of cringe, Johnson says Biden has had a “great career” and leads with “a lot of heart” and “soul” and praised Harris as “smart, tough” and a “certified badass.”
Johnson already tells both of the candidates he is endorsing them before then asking them how they’ll earn the American people’s respect, which is a bit odd. If he’s already going to vote for them and put his brand behind them then why ask them anything? They’ve already got his stamp of approval.
If they had been honest maybe Biden and Harris would have admitted they will only be working for progressives and left-wing radicals once in office as we can now see. Instead of unity or earning respect there’s a lot of the opposite going on.
Hopefully Johnson is watching and realizing his mistake in voting for these two. If he does run he’s going to need to rethink his politics quite a bit if he wants any votes from common-sense independents, libertarians or conservatives.
