Hunter Biden’s Legal Battle: Sues Giuliani and Costello Over Alleged Laptop Hacking

Hunter Biden filed a lawsuit against former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani and his lawyer Robert Costello. The lawsuit alleges the duo illegally accessed data from his infamous laptop, which was left at a repair shop in Delaware.

The lawsuit details how an external drive containing the data was sent to Costello’s home in New York by Mac Isaac, the owner of the repair shop. It further claims Giuliani ‘bragged’ about downloading Hunter Biden’s data.

The lawsuit accuses Giuliani of spending many hours hacking into and manipulating the data, making copies for himself and others to access and analyze, along with further altering and damaging the data through his unlawful activities.

Despite Hunter’s initial denial of ownership of the device and claims from allies of Joe Biden that the contents were Russian disinformation, the laptop was found to contain thousands of photos, videos, and files belonging to the president’s son.

The publication of these details led to accusations of corrupt influence-peddling while Joe Biden was vice president, and ultimately to an impeachment inquiry against the current president.

Giuliani has dismissed the lawsuit, stating there was ‘potential evidence of crimes’ on the laptop.

Ted Goodman, an advisor to Giuliani, said ‘Hunter Biden has previously refused to admit ownership of the laptop. I’m not surprised he’s now falsely claiming his laptop hard drive was manipulated by Mayor Giuliani, considering the sordid material and potential evidence of crimes on that thing.’

The lawsuit also names Robert Costello, a former lawyer for Giuliani. It alleges that Giuliani and Costello used Hunter’s username to access the data on the device, accusing them of ‘tampering’ and ‘manipulating’ information.

It further accuses them of having ‘dedicated an extraordinary amount of time and energy toward looking for, hacking into, tampering with, manipulating, copying, disseminating, and generally obsessing over data that they were given that was taken or stolen.’

The lawsuit was filed in a federal court in Los Angeles. It claims the actions of Giuliani and Costello were unlawful under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act.

Hunter Biden demanded that Giuliani and Costello ‘cease their unlawful activities with respect to Plaintiff’s data and return any data in their possession belonging to Plaintiff.’

The lawsuit added: ‘Defendants’ statements suggest their unlawful hacking activities are ongoing today and, unless stopped, will continue into the future, thereby necessitating this action.’

Hunter Biden is seeking damages exceeding $75,000 for the alleged violation of his digital privacy.Â
