Federal taxes have been helping pay for elective abortions through Obamacare according to a new report from the Family Research Council, Charlotte Lozier Institute and Heritage Foundation.
This is a direct violation of the Hyde Amendment, which bans any use of federal money to pay for abortions other than in specific cases of rape, incest or danger to a mother’s life.
A new report found that even in states where taxpayer-funded abortions through health care exchange plans are illegal, taxpayers are paying for elective abortions covered under Obamacare in other states, a direct violation of the Hyde Amendment.https://t.co/ul9TgSCIgk

Obamacare Plans: Breaking the Law to Fund Abortions
Specifically, the report uncovered the fact that states which legally prohibit use of health care exchange money for abortions are using taxpayer money to fund abortions through Obamacare in other states that do allow elective abortions via taxpayer money.
In other words, people using Obamacare in pro-life states are having their money used to pay for abortions in other pro-abortion states.
In total, 69 percent of Obamacare health plans in 24 states cover elective abortions for the coming year. Various states including California, Hawaii, Massachusetts and New York only have Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) plans that cover abortion, providing no option for those who do not religiously or ethically agree to having a plan that covers abortion.
Even though 26 states have pro-life legislation that is aimed at stopping taxpayer money from funding abortions, federal tax money is being used to pay for healthcare exchanges in states like Massachusetts and California that do permit federal money to be used for elective abortions. It’s an egregious breach of the Hyde Amendment and shows the hollowness of progressive rhetoric about “choice.” Did pro-life Americans choose for their money to be illegally used to pay for other people’s abortions?
Big Money to Kill Unborn Babies
According to Charlotte Lozier Institute President Chuck Donovan:
“In 2020, an estimated 2.4 million people are receiving a total of $13 billion dollars in taxpayer money in advanceable premium tax credits (APTCs) for plans that cover abortion on demand in all of the states that have not opted out of abortion coverage,” which Donovan observes is because of the “severe lack of transparency regarding abortion coverage” by the Obama Administration.
As Donovan notes, this is not only against the Hyde Amendment, it also goes directly against “the deeply held moral beliefs of pro-life Americans everywhere.”
But I suppose, according to Obama, that these Americans are just “bitter clingers,” right?
Standing for Life
With President-elect Joe Biden looming on the horizon and his fanatically pro-abortion VP pick Kamala Harris also in the wings it will become more and more difficult for Americans to stand for life.
The deeply racist and anti-human roots of the abortion movement will soon be back in power to bully nuns and force them to pay for contraception even though it is literally against their religion. These pro-abortion extremists clearly have no problem with chasing pro-life Americans out of the public square just like the Democrats already bullied and chased any pro-life Democrats out of their party by demonizing and insulting them repeatedly.
Although the number of abortions has been declining nationally, the last available statistics indicate that there were 862,000 abortions in the United States in 2017 and 620,000 abortions in 2018. Statistics for 2019 and 2020 have not yet been made public.
It is important to remember that every single unborn baby of this number could have had a chance at life and a future if they were not sentenced to die before birth by an evil, inhuman ideology that puts the psychological and physical health of women at risk and promotes a culture of degeneracy, self-centeredness and reckless irresponsibility.
As Donovan said: “Congress should apply the Hyde Amendment permanently and pursue patient-centered, life-affirming plans that respect the dignity of all Americans, born and unborn.”
Donovan is entirely correct.
